Now, a couple months later, it's clear that's the course Israel chose. I'm curious if you found that surprising, and if there are any signs of things getting "unstuck" in any sort of positive direction that you can see?
Sigh. No, not surprised, sadly. Nor am I surprised by the unconditional US support, nor by the global backlash against both. And, no, I see no signs of getting unstuck. Perhaps the most tragic thing of all in this crisis, which is full of tragedy and sadness, is the knowledge that this is yet another tragedy "gone to waste" (as in a wasted opportunity to get unstuck) and that the endless cycle of violence is bound to repeat itself again.
